USPS® Promos clock ticking down on DM discounts
This year, the US Postal Service again wants to reward your direct mail creativity with discounts for using certain technologies in your envelope and mailpiece designs.
Examples include dynamic color, new print techniques and integrated mobile technology. Promotions come with the requisite rules and specs (which Dynamark Direct Mail experts are happy to explain). But potential ROI–greater impact, higher response rates, a lasting impression–may be worth the effort, because creative physical mailers are still wildly popular with digitally deluged consumers. For companies who like to save money AND flaunt their design chops, the USPS offer opportunities to do both. Remaining 2019 promos, in which you can receive a 2% postage discount at the time of mailing, are:
1. Personalized Color Transpromo – save by adding color marketing messages to bills, statements and invoices; runs through Dec 31.
2. Mobile Shopping – save by integrating mobile technology (such as Quick Response (QR) Codes and Snap Tags), with direct mail, to make consumer shopping online easy and convenient; runs Aug 1–Dec 31.
3. Informed Delivery – save by participating in the program, which emails enrolled users color photos of mailpieces and packages scheduled to arrive at their home that day; runs Sept 1–Nov 30.
