Packaging Challenge Compels a Production Miracle
Every business has tales of seemingly insurmountable client challenges, miraculously overcome at the last minute. Ours was producing—on a week’s notice—a one-off, perfect-bound, 4-color photo book with a debossed foil-stamped cover and hardback carrying case. The client was a global megachurch, and the book recipient a prominent head of state—the pastor’s gifting was to occur at a United Nations leadership event.
Within 24 hours, we created a prototype of the case and a paper mock-up of the book—which the client immediately loved. Against the odds and realizing the project’s unique implications, all aspects of production came together and we miraculously finish the job on time.
The church’s creative services director was extremely happy— first, that we were willing to take on such an important and complex project on short notice, and second, that church leaders and the diplomat-recipient were extremely impressed by the book’s design and quality. In fact, one month later, the church ordered 450 additional copies.
